ISHIDA TAKENORI
Associate Professor or Lecturer
Affiliation Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life
Discipline Biotechnology
Academic Degrees Hiroshima University Master
Hiroshima University Doctor of Engineering
Research Fields Agricultural sciences; Agricultural chemistry; Applied biochemistry
Research Keywords Asbestos, Exosome, Biosensing, Peptide, Protein Engineering
Comments Every substance has a surface. My research connects biotechnology and different fields by using biomolecules (proteins and peptides) that interact with the surface. Specifically, we are developing a technology to easily detect asbestos using proteins that bind to the surface of asbestos fibers. We have discovered peptides that bind to the surface (lipid bilayer) of exosomes, which has the potential to be used for cancer diagnosis and regenerative medicine, and are developing exosome purification technologies using the peptides.
