Over decades, have conducted research on the treatment of sports injuries of the knee ligaments including ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) reconstruction as well as on regenerating and repairing knee cartilage. Since April 2013, this surgical procedure has been covered by the national health insurance in Japan. Also invented a less invasive treatment method for the knee cartilage defect in which patient's stem cells with iron particles are injected in the articular capsule of the knee and targeted at the defect site by manipulating the position of the external magnet.
