Toshio Tsuji received the B.E. degree in industrial engineering, and the M.E. and D.Eng. degrees in systems engineering from Hiroshima Uni versity, Hiroshima, Japan, in 1982, 1985, and 1989, respectively. He was a Research Associate from 1985 to 1994, and an Associate Professor from 1994 to 2002, in the Faculty of Engineering, Hiroshima University. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Genova, Genova, Italy, from 1992 to 1993. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical, Systems, and Control Engineering, Hiroshima University. His current research interests focus on human-machine interface and computational neural sciences, in particular, biological motor control. Dr. Tsuji received the Best Manipulation Paper Award from IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation in 2000, the K. S. Fu Memorial Best Transactions Paper Award of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society in 2003, and the Best Conference Paper Award - Finalist from IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation in 2004. |
