Comments My research deals with various aspects of contemporary globalization and develpment through cultural anthropological approach, particulalry focusing on the Philippines as a field. Current researches are on social policy and welfare state as a modern institution of governmentality, and how these influence people's mode of life and its transformation. Specific topics are: urben poverty, land tenure security and social housing projects in the slum community, natural resource management, and transnational migration.
