NGUYEN MANH LINH
Assistant Professor (Special Appointment)
Affiliation Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life
Discipline Bioresource/Food Sciences
Academic Degrees University of Alberta
University of Alberta Doctor of Philosophy (Plant Biology)
Research Fields Biology; Basic biology; Plant molecular biology / Plant physiology
Research Keywords abiotic stress tolerance, auxin, Arabidopsis thaliana, chemical priming, Oryza sativa, plant stress memory, plasmodesmata, vascular development.
Comments I'm motivated to understand how plants function at a mechanistic level. Previously, I investigated the mechanisms of leaf vein patterning regulated by auxin transport, auxin signaling, and plasmodesmata; the dynamic coordination of cell polarity during leaf vein formation; and the interlink between lipid biosynthesis and epigenetic pathways. Currently, I am focusing on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying the chemical priming-induced plant stress memory.
