Comments My research areas are laboratory phonology and applied phonetics. What are language-specific and universal properties in our phonetic/phonological systems? Visualization of articulatory/acoustic data would allow us to clarify the relation between sound production and auditory impression of the sounds. Phonetic analysis could uncover hidden contrasts in a language, or discover understudied dynamics of articulation.
