My core research technology consists of a real-time vibration spectrum imaging system with pixel-level short- term Fourier Transform (STFT) using high speed vision; the pixel-level STFT function for HFR images at 1000 fps or more is accelerated with its parallel-implementation on a GPU-based high-speed vision system, and power vibration spectrum images of 512x512 pixels can be obtained in real time at 30 fps. In addition, I also proposed a novel method for dynamics-based image-pattern recognition that can be used to inspect a specified vibrating pattern by computing temporal frequency responses in time-varying brightness signals at all the pixels of a high-frame-rate video sequence. The temporal frequency responses, which are the histograms of temporal frequency components in time-varying brightness signals, can be calculated using the STFT, and they are matched pixelwise with those of a reference vibrating pattern to determine whether a specific vibrating pattern is recognized. In summary, my research filed is vision-based pixel-level vibration analysis and detection using high speed vision. |
