Research Keywords Criminal Law / Comparative legal history / Asian Legal History / comparative study of Tang Code and Japanese Ritsuryō system
Comments In June 2016, I received a master's degree in Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWPUL), which is located in Chongqing China, then I received a doctorate in Law from SWPUL in 2020.
Most of my research has focused on the comparison between Tang Code with Taiho Ritsuryo and Yoro Ritsuryo. Mainly about comparing the kinship systems in Tang Dynasty with which in Ritsuryo Period, including the comparative investigation of the five degrees of mourning systems, marriage and funeral systems, inheritance systems, and adoption systems.
About the recent research consideration, I think maybe not only the historical background and genealogy of law should be concerned with, but also the suggestions from ancient law should be reconsidered again by the research of various issues, such as controversy over the existence and abolition of death penalty, the theory of mistake in criminal law, and the age of criminal responsibility, etc.
"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun." Legal history may also repeats itself, we can find many "rudiments" of modern legal theory in ancient law, even if the legal theory in ancient law is not so complete as which is found in modern law, but the suggestions from ancient legal study provide us with a rich seam of source material.
