As of August 1, 2025, I have officially assumed the position of Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathobiology, Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University. From Hiroshima to Japan and to the world, I will continue to dedicate myself to education, research, diagnosis, and the training of future specialists in the field of oral pathology. I also work as an oral pathologist in the Hiroshima University Hospital. My research focuses on oral/head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, salivary gland tumor, odontogenic tumor, sarcoma. I try to clarify the mechanism by which their genetic alterations and aberrant signaling pathway causes carcinogenesis or cancer progression, which are expected to yield a novel therapy for the patients with cancer. I mainly focus on the Hippo pathway and mTOR pathway, as well as tumor-immunity, using various approaches including molecular pathological, molecular biological, bioinformatics, mouse genetics etc. |
